The magic that Mark performs is more than his amazing stage presence and illusions during one of his magic shows. It's the many other talents he has perfected over the years.
Mark's career began in the mid 1970s at Great Adventure. It was there that Mark began learning many of his talents from performers such as Penn Jillette, Michael Motion and Coco and his clown troop. It was also at Great Adventure that Mark met his clowning partner Ron Maslanka a.k.a. Sam the Clown. Together Mark and Ron produced many shows including "The Happy Jack and Sam Show" and "The Madame Magenta Caravan Show". Ron left to study at Ringling Clown College, and Mark remained behind in NJ performing shows on his own. Early events included a TV commercial for Great Adventure with Jerry Lewis and performing on the Mike Douglas Show.
Looking to expand his horizons, Mark added to his many skills by immersing himself into the world of Magic. During this time, Mark had the unique opportunity to meet and work with Magic Greats such as The Amazing Randi, Bob McAllister, Robert Baxt, John Bundy and Fred Collins. The advice and lessons he learned from these great performers had an incredible influence on his life. Taking the knowledge he gained in magic and combining that with the carpentry skills he learned from his Grandfather, Mark started building his own illusions and creating his own magic show. Mark's new show took him on the road performing at many corporate events and schools. During this time, Mark also attended Business Management Classes at West Chester University.
Mark intertwined all his knowledge to market his talents and performed at many private parties as well as the Meadowlands, BASF, Johnson & Johnson, Radio Disney and "The Scott and Todd Morning Show" on 95.5 WPLJ. One of the highlights during this time was his engagement at the Caesar's Pocono Resorts. During his 11 years there, Mark created many shows and characters to entertain the guests.
Mark had the opportunity to study Hypnosis with Jerry Valley, Chuck Mignosa, Tommy Vitale, Serena Lumiere and the legendary Ormond McGill. During one of his many trips to Las Vegas, Mark had the pleasure to open for Ormond McGill at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino.
The entertainment value and memories Mark has brought to thousands over and over is nothing short of magic. Mark has been asked "You're a Magician, Hypnotist, Balloon Sculptor, Stilt Walker, Juggler, Puppeteer, Fire-eater, Living Statue, Character Actor and Clown. Would you call yourself a variety artist?" Mark's answer is always "No, just someone who loves to entertain."
